Why We Love It: The mantra for Autumn 2015: “Go Bold or Go Home”… When you make a statement like this – people listen!

This hand sculpted geometric choker is an inventive fusion of disparate elements. Made completely of high-end Italian resin, this chunky, funky choker can pop that t-shirt or polish that dress with one close of a clasp.

Available in apricot, rose or t-shell, you can make that statement all your own.  Those wishing to go unnoticed need not apply.

About The Brand:

PONO was launched in 2003 by sisters Joan Goodman and Barbara Barnett. For the past decade, Joan has designed each collection, while Barbara has run the business. Together they have cultivated a reputation for producing jewelry with an artistic, timeless sense of luxury, durability and originality.

PONO is the Hawaiian word for righteousness in all its forms: quality; morality; goodness; virtuousness; in perfect order. It also carries an implication of belonging within the realm of necessary and beneficial.

This is what they wanted to embody, and their wearers to embrace: being anchored, expressive, illuminating; not just in terms of look and feel but also when it comes to design, production and the ethics of the everyday.

About The Resin Material:

Resins, derived from the secretions of various plants, have been prized and treasured since the days of ancient Egypt, when certain resins (such as amber) were first used as jewelry, and when others (such as frankincense and myrrh) were used as incense and medicine.

At PONO, they cherish resin for its malleability and infusability. Indeed, it absorbs and radiates just about any natural dye with sophistication and flair. In fact, throughout the 1950s, it was the dominant substrate for costume jewelry.
