Shoe-gazers, beware.

Blushing, a foursome from Austin, Texas, could have you staring at your soles for a long time.

If you’re into shoe-gazing greats (such as My Bloody Valentine) and like the vocal play of two female leads, you’ll be glancing down and fixating on your boots in a hurry.

Get to know the band below. But first, here’s Blushing’s latest single “Dream Merchants” . . .

SIX CRUCIAL QUESTIONS for BLUSHING

***

1. What is your earliest musical memory?

Michelle Soto (vocals, guitar) – “Seeing the music video for ‘You Spin Me Round’ by Dead or Alive. My mom was watching it on TV at my grandmother’s house and it stopped me in my tracks. I was in total awe of the music and visuals.”

Christina Carmona (vocals, bass) – “Playing thumb war with my brother and trying to make each other laugh while not laughing during my parents’ choral concerts.”

2. What has been your most embarrassing musical moment?

Noe Carmona (the band’s guitarist, and Christina’s husband) – “A bug crawled down my pants and bit my butt in the middle of a song during a live show.”

Michelle – “Every time I sing live is my most embarrassing music moment.”

Christina – “Thinking there’s something wrong with my amp when really my instrument cable isn’t plugged in.”

5. Other than your own music, what is your favorite song or album of all-time? Why?

Christina – “If I had to pick it would either be Nine Inch Nails – The Downward Spiral or Cocteau Twins – Heaven or Las Vegas. I really love both those albums today just as much or more than the first time I heard them.”

6. You wake up in a seedy Berlin hotel room with no recollection of the past 96 hours. Who is your first call?

Michelle – “Jake [the band’s drummer, and Michelle’s husband]. He is truly the most rational, level-headed person I have ever known. In any crisis he knows exactly what to do and if he doesn’t, give him ten minutes and he will have a plan. If Jake is in the hotel with me, then I am calling mom. Always call mom.”

Christina – “No one. I’m Jason Bourne now.”
