Songs For The Week

AWOPBAMBOOM 47: Music 4 Music People

***

From a lime habit to a simple twist, here’s what’s orbiting our musical universe this week.

***

POLIÇA, “Lime Habit”

Just in time for Thanksgiving, a new synth-driven tune from POLIÇA.

***

Bobby Darin, “Mack the Knife”

A classic tune. For your holiday drive perhaps?

***

EL VY, “Return to the Moon”

Greeted by a mash of multiple voices, this vid leads you to believe you’re in for some strange sounds. After 10 seconds, you realize it’s really the contrary, a chill jam hosted by a couple of American rockers.

***

Chubby Checker, “The Twist”

One of the greatest of all time. Why? It told people it was okay to dance by themselves. Incredible that Chubby’s not in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, eh?

***

Snakehips ft. Tinashe, Chance The Rapper, “All My Friends”

We’re kinda diggin’ this song. You?

***

Menomena, “Plumage”

Ordinary fellows don’t travel the desert in bathrobes. Or do they?

***

Coldplay, “Adventure Of A Lifetime”

If compared to hard rock, then Coldplay is “limestone rock,” according to frontman Chris Martin. Kinda not funny, but “Adventure Of A Lifetime” is a nice little dance song from the band’s new album, which drops on Dec. 4.

***

The London Souls, “City of Light”

Catchy track with cinematography by Jac Cheairs.

***

Lucie Silvas, “Perfect”

We leave you with a warm cover this week. Here’s Lucie Silvas’ rendition of One Direction’s “Perfect.” Enjoy!
