We Love a Parade – The National Puerto Rican Day Parade, New York, June 12, 2016

New York’s 59th National Puerto Rican Day Parade billed itself as “America’s largest cultural celebration” with thousands honoring the Caribbean island and its people.

The event — which took place in Manhattan on Sunday, June 12, 2016 — welcomed all, from the parade-going fan to the political activist.

Jeff Day, an independent photographer based in New York City, documents city life celebrations and the renewal of historical tradition in contemporary voice in the streets. He is completing two books, New Orleans Black and White and New York Street.  A lifelong sailor, Jeff has also documented the water’s edge and shore towns of New York, New England, the Gulf Coast, and Eastern Spain.
