THE SLAMMIN’ SUMMARY
A commanding two-set win from reigning US Open Champion Naomi Osaka, in her third-round victory over rising star Coco Gauff. The score- 6-3, 6-0.
Gauff, age 15, was stopped short of becoming the youngest player to reach the fourth round of the women’s singles tournament since 1996.
Whilst Osaka takes the first win in the head to head of the matchup that some call the “future of women’s tennis.”

In other news, twenty-one-seed Estonian Anett Kontaveit retired from the singles tournament today, letting Swiss thirteenth-seed Belinda Bencic automatically advance to the next round, where she will face one-seed Naomi Osaka.
