A Fashionable Q&A with… Shana Schlossberg, Founder of myEZBZ

In NewsWhistle’s weekly question-and-answer series, Clara Morgan speaks with some of the world’s top beauty and style influencers and finds out more about their lives and career.

This week, Clara speaks with Shana Schlossberg, founder and CEO of myEZBZ, a new social concierge service that connects consumers with local area businesses in a mutually beneficial way.

myEZBZ, available for free download in the Apple App store and on Google Play, was founded by Schlossberg with the intention of creating an alternative to other online listing agents, which accept money in exchange for higher listings.

Along with services such as home and lawn repairs, myEZBZ.com can also help users find a dog walker or a new yoga instructor in real-time.

1.      What was your inspiration for creating myEZBZ?

I have been working with local businesses for over 15 years and always felt that marketing platforms work against them instead of for them. I wanted to create a platform that facilitated connections between consumers and businesses in a fair and honest way.

2.      What differentiates myEZBZ from other providers such as Yelp, Handy, or Angie’s List?

myEZBZ has proprietary technology that can match any consumer request with matching local businesses in minutes. This allows us to match a consumer with all local reputable businesses at the same time and create an equal playing field where large and small businesses have the SAME opportunity to win the consumer’s business. On myEZBZ, a business cannot pay more to receive an advantage and the consumer is able to support local businesses instead of larger corporations that usually dominate first page results on most other search platforms.

3.     Where do you see the EZBZ platform developing in 5 years’ time?

Over the next few months EZBZ’s widget will be implemented in many different industries – within banking, insurance, property management and ecommerce platforms. In addition we are starting to open new countries so that within 3 years you will be able to source any product or service from around the world directly from vendors with a click of a button.

4.      If you could meet anyone in the world, who do you want to meet? And why?

Richard Branson! I have deep admiration for this man who made social entrepreneurship lucrative and cool. A man who has been a great vehicle of change and continues to push the boundaries of human innovation.

5.      If you did not launch myEZBZ, what would you want to be doing?

Just prior to starting EZBZ I was accepted to medical school with plans of becoming a neurosurgeon.

6.      Who influences your personal style?

Strong, successful women are always an inspiration to me in all areas, including style and fashion.

7.      Best international dining experience you’ve ever had?

I have been lucky enough to eat in some of the best restaurants in the world and have many more than one favorite but one restaurant I visit a lot and always enjoy is MESSA in Tel Aviv. Over the years I have ordered almost everything on the menu and each bite is orgasmic.

8.      Favorite vacation spot and hotel?

One of my favorite places in the world is the Osho Meditation Resort in Pune, India. I start my day at 6 a.m. with yoga and meditation, then work for a few hours by the pool or just catch up with friends from around the world, take in another afternoon meditation and then it’s off to dinner at one of many great restaurants in Pune and back to dance parties at the resort. It’s a real vacation for body, mind and soul.

9.      Which three items must you always have in your purse?

My laptop, a pair of sunglasses and my turquoise eyeliner.

10.      What song can you listen to on repeat?

I love classical music and opera and can listen to any Verdi or Puccini aria again and again. It’s specifically what I listen to when I work.

11.     What is your favorite quote?

“Ask not what your country can do for you but what you can do for your country.”
