“Boom bap” is about confidence and flow, and Staten Island’s Prema777 doesn’t disappoint as she quickly throws down a constant stream of rhymes over sweet waves of percussion and rhythm.
We’ve heard five singles from Prema777 – and we’re really enjoying them.
In particular, we like Prema777’s latest single “Workin,” which features Nitty Scott.
Also, we’re pretty fond of “Nothing Free.”
Below, we get to know the singer who’s bringing us all together with her confidence and her words.
FAVORITE MOVIE, AND WHY
My favorite movie is Goodfellas, it’s a classic so I can’t resist. I remember watching it for the first time with my father and how mesmerized I was by the nature of the characters and how much depth they had. Henry & Janet really drew me me in; the whole Bonnie and Clyde roll always gets me. It was a lightbulb for me on how misleading life can be and how much duality we have as humans. I just felt connected like we all have families we all have heart, but it’s real out here in these streets and you never know who you’re messing with, lol.
FAVORITE BOOK, AND WHY
My favorite book is Think & Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill. I actually don’t love reading and should do it more often. It’s a challenge for me, but Think & Grow Rich was an easy break down with so many gems that guided me through some tough times in my life. It helped me to open up new ways of thinking & apply the practice of manifesting my thoughts into what I want.
PLACE I WANT TO VISIT, AND WHY
I would love to visit Egypt one day. I love exploring & would be grateful to go anywhere I haven’t been. I want to experience all life including nature, people and culture. The Middle East captivates me and I hope to one day get to travel and learn more of that area of the world, but Egypt specifically because of its historical value and mysticism. I’d also love to go to Ikaria, Greece, known as “the island where people forget to die” and is 1 of 7 Blue Zones in the world.
FAVORITE OUTFIT, AND WHY
My favorite outfit is something sporty but chic. I love mixing my girly flavor with the comfort of the Tom Girls in me. A dress with some Jordans or a chic top with some stretch pants is always a good look. I especially love thrifting and have a soft spot for vintage windbreakers and jackets like Le Coq Sportif or some fire Lacoste in neons and iridescents. Layers are the key to great fit and give the benefit to change it. But for now it’s the preggo fit until next month when our lil princess is due.
