Music Festival Action – September 2016 – Riot Fest – Life Is Beautiful – ACL

If you missed the official unofficial end of summer art, dust ,and sensory overload festival in the Nevada desert, Burning Man, then you still have plenty of festival action to catch this fall.

Here’s a quick look at a few music festivals on our radar for September.

Riot Fest, Chicago IL, Sep 16-18

Although the Denver stop of this music fest and carnival was last weekend, you can still catch Riot Fest in Chicago’s Douglas Park (Chicago is RF’s original home) September 16-18.

Historically a very punk rock line-up, this year’s artists include the Flaming Lips, Ween, Fitz and the Tantrums, Morrissey, and the reunion of the Original Misfits with Glenn Danzig.

If full album plays are your thing, Social Distortion will revisit White Light, White Heat, White Trash  and the Hold Steady will celebrate 10 years of Boys and Girls in America, both on Saturday, September 17.

Life is Beautiful, Las Vegas NV, Sep 23-25

This fest is a cool mix of indie rock, hip hop, EDM and rock with a line-up featuring Mumford & Sons, Jane’s Addition, Major Lazy, G-Easy, Bassnectar, Tegan and Sara, and many more.

And what would a visit to Las Vegas be with thinking about the stellar food that’s available?  LIB Fest will feature local chefs and their culinary game is on point here on the Taste Lineup.

Austin City Limits Music Festival, Austin TX, Sep 30-Oct 2 and Oct 7-9

This fest is a cool mix of indie rock, hip hop, EDM, and rock.

This ain’t your mama’s ACL on PBS.

You get two chances to catch ACL Fest happening over two weekends on the cusp of Sep-Oct in Zilker Park.

Headliners are the same on each weekend, including Radiohead, Major Lazer, Flume, Kendrick Lamar, LCD Soundsystem, Chris Stapleton, and how-can-you-have-a-concert-event-in-Austin-without-the-one-and-only Willie Nelson.

The fest will feature an art market and plus, Austin’s food truck scene is one of the top in the U.S., so you know the food will be good.  Just got pretty hungry perusing this year’s food vendors.
