The 66th Viennese Opera Ball will be held at Cipriani 42nd Street. This gala will benefit the music therapy program at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center with support from Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research. The Gala chairs for the evening will be Denise Rich and philanthropist Jean Shafiroff. The vice chairs will be Sylvia Hemingway and Peter Thomas Roth. Top opera stars Donata d’Annunzio Lombardi, Carolina López Moreno, Iurii Samoilov, and Johanna Will have been confirmed to perform at the 66th Viennese Opera Ball, with opera star Nadine Sierra joining as Honorary Guest. The annual white tie charity gala honors Austria and America’s cultural and economic ties, uniting two continents, two cities, and two centuries in one glamorous evening. It was founded 66 years ago by Austrian immigrants to the United States as a tribute to both their former hometown Vienna and their host city, New York. The gala attracts an international audience that includes diplomats and dignitaries, international corporations, and professionals. It is considered the most prestigious and oldest Viennese ball outside of Vienna. Metropolitan opera singers, a renowned orchestra, ballet performances, the West Point color guard, a midnight quadrille, and many other surprises all contribute to a glamorous and delightful evening. Previous notable attendees include The Honorable Michael Ludwig, Governor and Mayor of Vienna, Actress Samantha Mathis, and TV personality Star Jones.

Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation
Collaborating for a Cure Ladies Lunch at AVRA

Dr. Andrew Jacono will be honored at the ninth annual Collaborating for a Cure Ladies Luncheon benefiting the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation (SWCRF) for his continued support of SWCRF, dedication to philanthropy, and passion for scientific advancement. Ungaro by renowned designer Kobi Halperin will be featured in this year’s live fashion show. There will also be a live auction with proceeds benefitting the SWCRF. Gentlemen are more than welcome to attend the luncheon as well. The Collaborating for a Cure Ladies Luncheon will also help to raise funds to improve patient outcomes for those suffering from breast and ovarian cancer. Since its inception in 1976, the Samuel Waxman Cancer Research Foundation has awarded more than $100 million to support the work of more than 200 researchers across the globe. Previous attendees include designer Dennis Basso, Don Lemon of CNN Tonight, and designer Jason Wu.

Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation
Paws in the Park Dog Walk

Join the Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation for a day of family fun, food, shopping, dancing, and dog walking at their Paws in the Park Dog Walk & Vendor Fair at Red Creek Park, Hampton Bays. The proceeds from this event will be used to care for the shelter’s 1,500 helpless pets who come through its doors each year. Whether caring for stray animals found on the streets, rescuing neglected and abandoned animals, or assisting in the rehoming of pets from other shelters, the shelter is a safe haven for all animals and a last resort for some. A $20 donation is required to be a part of the Dog Walk, and free admission for shopping and other activities.
The Southampton Animal Shelter Foundation, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, is supported exclusively by donations and grants from the community. From caring and finding homes for stray and abandoned animals to providing low-cost veterinary care and dog training so that animals can remain in their homes, the shelter has become a vital resource in the community.

Southampton Inn Memorial Weekend BBQ

The award-winning Southampton Inn will host their Memorial Weekend BBQ to open the Hamptons Summer Season. All are welcome to celebrate the holiday al fresco on the pool patio surrounded by five acres of manicured lawns and private gardens. The BBQ is complimentary to guests staying at the Inn, and for those stopping by for just the BBQ, the price is $30 per adult and $20 per child under the age of 12. Guests can enjoy a buffet of signature burgers and grilled chicken, fresh salads and tasty treats prepared by the on-site eatery Claude’s Restaurant. There is also a cash bar at the pool patio which boasts the sweetest margaritas and chilled refreshments for sipping in the sun. Enjoy a live musical performance by Philip Gotthelf from Electric Circus from Days of Old, and more recently Tappan Hill. Memorial Day weekend still has limited overnight rooms availability (and includes BBQ, live music, and scavenger hunt). In the event of inclement weather, the BBQ and festivities will be held inside the Inn’s ballroom. Join the Southampton Inn for what will be a fun-filled day. Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center
Get Wild Benefit!

The Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center will host their 14th Annual Get Wild Benefit! at Swans Crossing in Southampton Village. This year’s benefit will honor Bridget Fleming and Karen Johnston, DVM, and celebrate the center’s continuous efforts to rehabilitate and successfully release animals back into the wild across Eastern Long Island. Guests will enjoy live music along with cocktails and light fare, and a silent auction. All guests are welcome to the cocktail party featuring appearances from some of the hawks and owls the Evelyn Alexander Wildlife Rescue Center has rehabilitated that are non-releasable and now reside at the Center. Previous attendees include model Beth Stern, RHONY Ramona Singer, and Nicky Hilton.
