Real estate broker and TV personality Katrina Campins has a new docu-series on the Style Network.
The show’s called “Hot Listings Miami” – and it gives viewers a front row seat into the world of luxe properties as Campins builds her business and looks for love.
Talking with Campins, we couldn’t help but like her forthright opinions and optimistic approach to life.
Yup, Campins is cool in our book, even though we’re having second thoughts about telling her our favorite joke . . . the one about the Arctic and a furry baby polar bear.
Without further ado . . .
The NewsWhistle Q&A with Katrina Campins

Age (if you want to give it up): 33 (I enjoy being in my 30’s) : )
Birthplace: Miami, Florida

1. What’s the funniest or saddest thing that’s happened to you this week?
There were a lot of funny moments. There’s no particular one because there were a lot of them. I feel if we’re not laughing, what’s the point? Life’s an adventure we might as well enjoy it.
2. What’s your favorite movie? And why?
I don’t have one favorite, but a variety over the years that I have enjoyed. Most recently I took part in hosting a screening of an amazing film, GIRL RISING, for the United Nations Foundation. The film showcases the strength of the human spirit through 9 young girls from 9 different countries and the power of education to change the world.
3. What’s the biggest risk you took in life?
The thought of not living to my full potential is my biggest fear so I dare to be the best version of myself every day. That’s why I let my walls down with my television show and was vulnerable in love.
4. If you could go back in time and do one thing over, what would that be?
I wouldn’t redo a thing. I believe life is in perfect order. I believe there are positive and negative experiences and that’s what makes life whole. Everything sets us up for what we were destined to be. I wouldn’t take any of it back.
5. Tell us your favorite joke:
I don’t have a favorite because after I hear one I can never remember it later. I enjoy it in the moment. I’m big on people being funny, but authentically funny like Kevin Hart. He’s hysterical and says what people are thinking. I think people telling jokes are trying too hard. The people that make me laugh are not telling jokes. They’re just being themselves.
6. What’s something that most people don’t know about you?
I’m really hardcore when it comes to business. I’m no nonsense when it comes to work, but many people don’t know that, deep down, I’m just a little girl who wants to enjoy the ride that is life.
7. What’s the best piece of advice you’ve ever heard?
My mother instilled a sense of self in me at a very young age. I’m extremely grateful. She always made me believe there was nothing I couldn’t accomplishment. The word “can’t” doesn’t exist in my vocabulary because my mother taught me, “Impossible is not a fact, it’s an opinion, and everything is possible.”
8. Who’s your favorite celebrity? And why?
Johnny Depp. His work is his craft, and he doesn’t get caught up in all things Hollywood. I met him in person. He was very real. He was the first to say, “hello” and start a conversation.
9. What’s your strangest phobia or superstition?
I don’t have a phobia or superstition. I don’t believe in luck. I believe we create our own destiny. As far as a fear, my main fear is not living to my full potential. I want to look back and know that I was really alive during this life.
10. Last, but not least, is there anything you want to pitch, promote or discuss?
My New TV Show on The Style Network “Hot Listings Miami”which airs every Tuesday night at 9/8C! And if anyone is looking to buy or sell property in South Florida, I’m ready to assist!!!! : )
11. Oh, and a bonus curve question: What is the top question people should ask the previous owner before buying a property?
“Why are you moving?”
