NEW YORK, New York, October 31 — The 44th Halloween Parade marched up the Avenue of the Americas, led by giant skeletons and filled with costumed concerns and references from years past.
The night’s air was thick with thoughts of a deadly truck attack, which unfolded just blocks away. Still, the participants preceded in the the face of tragedy, knowing not to be deterred.
The 2017 parade was more political than many of its predecessors — with border walls, Trump-ian ghouls, and corporate greed the prominent themes of this All Hallows’ Eve.
