Photo Essay – The 2021 Halloween Parade – New York City

***

“Let’s Play.”  And play they did, the theme of this 48th Ol’Hallows Eve Parade. Goblins, spooks, Covids and needles danced their way up the Avenue of Americas to chase away the spirits of 2020 cancelation.  Thousands of oohing-and-ahhing-masked-haves-and-have-nots gazed on this warm night as children and snake puppets flew overhead.  New costumes appeared as old stalwarts were missed, one wonders their pandemic condition.  Through the eve, brass signals and the salsa beat echoed to the delight of little faces smiling with glee, all knowing Ol’ Hallows Eve finally returned to shrieks of delight.
