Photo Essay – The St. Patrick’s Day Parade – New York City – March 16, 2019

***

Hundreds of thousands (many of whom donned the green, white, and orange) cheered the 258th Saint Patrick’s Day Parade on a crisp Saturday morn.

High school bands and bagpipers alike played the festive sounds as spectators of many colors proclaimed their Irish-ness for the day.

Dancers, flag wavers, and traditional Irish dance groups made their way up a changing Fifth Avenue where buildings are renewed and storefronts continue their flux.

Families carried photographs remembering those who made sacrifices, ahead of the 345 American flags “and counting,”  this, an annual show of memorial.

These photographs are dedicated to those who never forget and who are never forgotten.
