Those Irish eyes were a-smilin’ as the 257th St. Patrick’s Day Parade kicked off on a bright, sunny, albeit chilly “Top O’ the Mornin to Ya” Saturday on St. Patrick’s Day. Tens of thousands reveled as bagpipes piped, high school bands entertained, and dancers pranced, while politicians shook hands and waved to the masses.  Over one hundred thousand marched up Fifth Avenue as Governor Andrew Cuomo, Mayor Bill de Blasio and a special visitor, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar greeted Timothy Cardinal Dolan at the steps of St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The avenue was abound with green, white, and orange enthusiastic cheer, celebrating a day of inclusion, all being Irish for the day. These images document the warmth, the remembrance of those from days gone by, and those marching to the future.
