AWOPBAMBOOM Volume 96 – Select Songs for Fellow Travelers
***
From “Love Songs” to “Little Pieces,” here are some of the songs we’ve been listening to this week.
***
Tired All The Time – “Little Pieces”
We’re in romo heaven with Tired All The Time’s “Little Pieces.” It’s a sneaky song — entrancing you with a steady snare beat before whipsawing you into a heavenly howl. This one ain’t tired at all.

Soft Cell – “Northern Lights”
What do you do when you’re about to perform a farewell concert? You release your first new song in 15 years, natch. “Northern Lights” may not be on the same plane as Soft Cell’s “Tainted Love,” but we’ll take anything from Marc Almond and Co. Goodbye, Soft Cell… and welcome back!

Stereo Off – “Sunsetting”
Yeah, we know ’em and love ’em, but we’ve been a big fan of Stereo Off for years. This time around, the Brooklyn-based band has blended you a refreshing cocktail of sax, bass and synth. Like rum with orange juice… but only smoother and tastier.

Teddy Glass – “Nights and Weekends”
A real earthy charmer. Laid-back vocals. The march of a drum. And a steady drop of looping synthesized sounds. Nice.

KayBe – “Love Songs”
A modern pop lullaby. Soothing and assured. And stuck in our head. Enjoy!
